A social group for all LGBTQ+ families in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Queer Families Collective Edinburgh

More about Queer Families Collective

The aim of the group is to connect queer families and help build a supportive community. Diverse family structures are welcome. The group is run by volunteer parents.

We meet socially once per month to do a different activity: for example a walk or a stay and play. All activities will be free or come with the option to be low cost. We meet up at different locations around the city. It is often but not always on the first Saturday of the month, but we will post dates and times of our meet ups in our calendar.

To find out the specific location of any of our events, please email queerfamiliescollective@lgbthealth.org.uk. You can also email us with any other questions.

We strive to ensure our meet up locations are accessible by public transport and will consider any specific access needs of the group members.

We also have a supportive WhatsApp group, and we encourage members to say hello in the chat and take part in shaping the group.

In the past we have held an event in for folk considering starting a family, or who were pregnant or pursuing adoption. We don’t have any of these events planned currently, but if you are a prospective parent and would like to come to one of our events to meet people, please get in touch on the email above.

We also arrange occasional pub nights for parents/carers to socialise.

Our schedule

Queer Families Collective usually meets on the 1st Saturday of the month somewhere in Edinburgh.

Two people sitting together, talking and smiling at an LGBT Health and Wellbeing event. One with short pink hair and a yellow jacket adorned with pins, the other wearing glasses and a black shirt that reads 'Can't Think Straight.'
