SUMMARY:Open Book Creative Writing
DESCRIPTION:Delivered in partnership with Open Book Reading\, we’ll be reading stories and poems aloud and using them to create our own writing in a gentle\, guided session with Lead Reader\, Jess Orr. \n  \nNo experience required! Just a willingness to have a go in a safe and affirmative setting. \n  \nFirst time? Find out what to expect from a session on this guide. \n  \nImportant information about our October session – PLEASE READ \nOur group is part of Open Book’s Scotland-wide community programme of shared reading and creative writing sessions. To help showcase the work Open Book does and encourage new members to come along\, we have invited a local photographer and videographer to attend our session in October to take some footage of the group in action and record short video testimonies with those who are willing to talk about their experience of being part of this group. Footage captured will be used by Open Book and LGBT Health & Wellbeing on their website and across online platforms\, and may occasionally feature in print media. Taking part is entirely optional and permission forms will be available on the night\, but it would be useful for us to know at this point if this is something you might be happy to participate in.

SUMMARY:Stimprovisation Workshop
DESCRIPTION:A Stimprovisation (sense and movement) workshop for LGBTQ+ people (16+) in Glasgow \n  \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a Stimprovisation workshop with Dr Aby Watson. \n  \nStimprovisation is stimming improvisation\, a playful practice of sensory-seeking instant composition. Discovered and coined during Dr Aby Watson’s artistic research and developed for neurodivergent people\, stimprovisation is about ‘unmasking’ and feeling freer. \n  \nIn a Relaxed environment\, neuroqueer choreographer Aby Watson will gently lead us through ways of stimprovising: \n\nMovement (Stimdance)\nObjects (Stimplements)\nVoice (Sensinging)\n\n  \nFor this workshop with LGBT Health and Wellbeing\, we’ll focus on Stimplements: exploring sensory experiencing through objects. This workshop offers a practical introduction to stimprovising. You do not need performance experience to join us\, only a willingness to play and explore! Come wearing clothes suitable for movement. All are welcome – you do not have to identify as neurodivergent to join. \n  \nAccess Notes: \nThis workshop takes place in a Relaxed environment. This means: \n\nMovement\, sounding\, stimming is all welcome throughout\n\n\nYou can leave and return as much as you like\n\n\nThere is a separate Quiet space to the main workshop space\n\n\nEverything is an invitation\, not a demand\n\n\nAn understanding that focus/attention looks different for different people\n\n\nLight and sound are considered for sensory sensitivity\n\n\nThere will be breaks\n\n\nStimplements (stimming objects) will be available\n\n\nEar plugs will be available
